Pictured above: Hermès Arceau Space Derby

Hermès’s latest Haute creation is bound to delight with its dazzling array of spectacular colours and imagery set in its iconic Arceau case. The Arceau Space Derby sees illustrator Ugo Bienvenu’s cosmic equestrian team imagined for Hermès’s Space Derby silk scarf embark on an intergalactic race.

An aventurine mimics the cosmos while the jockey and horse motifs are painstakingly hand-painted with extreme care and meticulous attention to details to give life to a palette of nuances, contrasts and unique details. The glowing shades spring to life through a multitude of layers of micro-painting and firing up in a hot kiln. Only 24 such pieces are made, each cased in white gold and powered by an automatic Manufacture Hermès H1837 movement, making it a truly delightful watch that pleases.

TAG Heuer Connected

Sports enthusiasts, especially swimmers and runners, and fans of wearables rejoice as the latest update for the TAG Heuer Connected presents a brand-new swimming experience and an upgrade of the Running app.

Swimmers can measure and record their performance including laps completed, total distance and interval breakdowns on the TAG Heuer Connected. A summarised overview in their mobile phones offers insights such as calories burned, strokes analysis and pace. The big highlight is the SWOLF scoring system, a complex metric and important performance indicator calculated by adding the seconds and strokes taken to swim 25 or 50 metres. It shows swimmers their lap efficiency and gives them a strategic benchmark that they can use to continuously improve.

A dedicated heart rate screen is designed and developed in-house for indoor runners who want to focus primarily on their heart rate during a sports activity. They can map their heart rate zone from warm-up (zone 1) to peak (zone 5) and modulate the intensity depending on their personal cardiovascular goals. At the end of their session, indoor runners can input the total distance recorded by the treadmill into the watch, which will automatically calculate the pace of the session.

Up next is a pair of delightful watches that will tickle vintage watch fans pink. Each piece is rich in history, has a distinct look that celebrates its predecessors and is packed with significant upgrades and innovations.

Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic

These Delightful Watches Will Please YouIt is no surprise — as fans of the Rado Captain Cook — we are thrilled by the release of the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic. Rado’s expertise in high-tech ceramic finally sees the inimitable dive watch clad almost entirely in high-tech ceramic, from its monobloc case to bezel insert and bracelet for exceptional lightness, comfort and scratch resistance. Rado’s latest automatic calibre R734 powers the dive watch; it features a Nivachron hairspring, an innovative component that protects the timepiece from magnetic fields.

Seiko Prospex The 1959 Alpinist Re-creation

2021 sees Seiko release the Seiko Prospex The 1959 Alpinist Re-creation based on the popular 1959 Seiko Laurel Alpinist designed for mountain climbers and recreational field sports enthusiasts. Since its inception, the Alpinist has gained a cult following with many interpretations though this particular one celebrates its roots.

The Alpinist Re-creation spots a slimmer profile despite the addition of a date complication and enhanced performance of the automatic calibre 6L35. A sapphire crystal recreates the original feeling of the watch’s characteristic domed glass while generously sized markers set against a black gloss dial offers legibility. Only 1959 pieces of the Seiko Prospex The 1959 Alpinist Re-creation will be made available.
