#ObjectsOfDesire: Saint Laurent June Box Bag
Every week, we uncover a new object of desire from the vast and magical world of brands. This week, we examine Saint Laurent’s June Box Bag, an all-occasion, structured and palatial wonder of luxe.

When deciding to buy a new bag, there are two main silhouettes to choose from: the soft and shapeless versus the boxy and structured. There are of course numerous other creative iterations to consider in the spectrum (on top of size and other aesthetic considerations), but the argument mainly stems from how you approach the concept of organisation — whether you want that regimental guidance or the freedom to be as you are.

You might be surprised to hear that this becomes a bigger question the smaller your carrier of choice is. The spatial limitations or ability to challenge and stretch a bag’s dimensions is felt more viscerally in a tighter space, which also affects how the bag fits on the body. Slouchier bags tend to be more casual and comfortable on the body, but bags with clear, angled corners appear elevated and have a more sophisticated look.

Saint Laurent’s June Box Bag is one such bag that exemplifies this — just that its diamond-quilted over stitching is both pleasing to the eye and touch.

Featuring a front flap that has a pivoting bronze-toned YSL closure, the pure lambskin box bag brings to mind a small picnic basket or a lunch box that you might carry to school as a kid, only made many times more resplendent. Lined with suede and leather, the sensual bag is surprisingly versatile, the simple shape a mark of genderless appeal.

The June Box bag also makes for a very sturdy and pretty camera bag; its fixed shape a good protector for fragile equipment.
