Fendi Men’s Winter 2022-2023 campaign explores the “New Roaring Twenties” with subverted sartorial classics and hypermodern graphics.

There aren’t too many brands that have members of their first designer’s bloodline still contributing to fashion today. Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of accessories and menswear of the Roman house, is one of the rare few who still guards the throne, expertly harnessing Fendi’s heritage to reassert its presence in both the past and the future, redefining the boundaries of menswear with every season.

This season’s offering, brought to life by the creative direction of multi-hyphenate artist Nico Vascellari, has the Fendi Men’s Fall Winter 2022-2023 collection picturing the rich and understated palette of black and cream, burgundy, taupe and white against the unpredictable hues of an aurora borealis. The soft shades of pink and yellow morph into one another to highlight bold textures and graphic statements, two focal moments that make up this collection.

Vichy check tweeds and houndstooth suiting contrast with satin tuxedo trims and striped silk jacquards, these sartorial classics rioting against the casual and cosy of ribbed sleeves and cable knit sweaters.

The feature of the new O’Lock chain monogram also qualifies this collection as a treasure trove of future heirlooms — a bookmark in time that celebrates the interaction of the past with the present.

The O’Lock appears again on loafers with scalloped trims, while the new Fendi sneaker ties this neo-dandy riff down back to the current century.

On the bag front, the Peekaboo is enlarged into a Peekaboo Fforty8, which is a large, structured shopper that comes in solid smooth and grain leather and features this season’s Vichy check wool. The iconic Baguette is also upsized as an FF-embossed Soft Trunk and then made miniature into an exotic chain bag.

In a world first, the O’Lock motif and Baguette design are also made into luxury tech accessories to house the Ledger Nano X, the leading digital hardware wallet for cryptocurrency and digital assets. If there’s a reason why Fendi is still a well-revered brand today, it’s because Silvia knows how to look both ways without losing momentum in its charge towards the exciting future.
