#ManCrushMonday — Blue Pongtiwat Is Zen In Zegna
Actor Blue Pongtiwat wears a Zegna suit and the classic Triple Stitch sneakers from Zegna’s collaboration with new-age footwear designer Mr Bailey.

There’s no need to pair suits with just white sneakers anymore. Contemporary formalwear codes have morphed and become more sophisticated, letting individuals express themselves with a little bit more freedom than was previously thought possible. Actor Blue Pongtiwat defines this attitude of smart casual in a cool blue Zegna get-up, pairing with a thoughtful yet versatile interpretation of the Triple Stitch sneaker pairing.

After the brand’s successful collaboration with Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear Of God in 2020, creative director Alessandro Sartori set his sights on updating one of the 112-year-old brand’s most traditional footwear silhouettes, inviting sneaker aficionado and footwear designer Dan Bailey on board to give the Triple Stitch a new digitalised and technically finessed look as part of its its Spring Summer 2023 collection.

Bailey redefined the stacked leather sole unit into a “single piece of leather that’s been triple wrapped around the silhouette like a belt,” making it chunkier as per vulcanised sneakers, and sleeker at the toe cap for a maintenance of its office apropos status.

Pongtiwat’s brick iteration is particularly flattering with his blue outer shirt and matching pant look, the elastic cord and netted tongue beckoning the image of an outdoor trekking shoe while retaining its city look with its sleek shape. The laid-back and calm amidst the foliaged he is framed by accentuates Zegna’s sense of ease, that stands strong even under the skilled hands of Mr Bailey.

The brand’s down-to-earth encouragement of new ideas and creativity is a strength that will propel its ongoing forage into the essence of clean, technical and luxurious purity.
