Porcelain Skincare is Back and Is Really, Really Good

Porcelain Skincare is Back and is Really Really Good
The second really in the story title is not a typo or overenthusiastic fawning and in fact, it takes a herculean effort on my end to say that a product range is really, really good. And really, really good is exactly what the relaunched Porcelain Skincare is. If you’re not convinced by the science behind it (we’re gonna get into that in a little) or its zen-like packaging (seriously?), the relaunched product series can be summarised into one little succinct sentence — it responds to what your skin needs regardless of its type in the gentlest way possible.

“Pursuing perfection isn’t about conforming to unrealistic beauty standards. Instead, it’s about embracing our individuality,” says Pauline Ng, founder and director of Porcelain. “Just like the cracks in the porcelain bowls that are repaired, each skin imperfection is unique. At Porcelain, we are here to correct it, not conceal it.”

But we are living in an age of choices where we consume an average of 34 gigabytes of information a day and that is a lot of cat videos and memes. The Porcelain Skincare solution however, is to break its range down into four simple categories. Porcelain Control curbs acne, Porcelain Soothe calms sensitisation, Porcelain Essentials (a set of eight) performs the prevailing and Porcelain Plus+ is a set of masks.

Simply put, the stuff is simple; things to stock your skin ledge with that doesn’t add more than a few minutes to your routine. The Porcelain Essentials HA+ Hydrating Serum is a simple gel that when patted on the face, instantly hydrates for the long haul while preventing acne breakouts. A Hydro Cleanser does exactly what a cleanser should do — cleansing without stripping. Even a Deep Hydrating Lotion — something so conceptually simple — does what it does beautifully: hydrating, stimulating renewal and packaged neatly in a spritz bottle.

Pictured above: A biocellulose mask made from soft coconut cocoons the skin in moisture, the Hydraclear Gel reduces inflammation and bacterial growth, the Deep Hydration Lotion replenishes and the Botanical Sensitive Care Toner reduces redness and signs of eczema.

“We customise and curate our regimens wholly around the customer,” says Pauline. “Our promise is to accompany our clients through the evolution of their skin as their life-long beauty partner.”

A humble approach to her work with Porcelain Skincare but if we could just reiterate what we said before, it’s really really good. The perfect skincare solution for time-addled millennials like us who are obsessed with cat videos.
