Accessories from Saint Laurent Build an Anarchist Colony

  • By Men's Folio Editorial

Ever since taking on the role of Saint Laurent’s Creative Director last year, Anthony Vaccarello has unfailingly retained the Parisian’s inimitable “rock n roll” spirit.

For their recent Spring Summer 2018 collection, the designer unveiled a party-ready collection that was brimming with glamour and vigor. The collection paid homage to the Saint Laurent man’s skinny aesthetic along with the brand’s eclectic take on washed-out textiles, embedded onto garments, accessories and shoes. Signature Noe black and khaki-washed backpacks, a vintage cognac leather sport bag, and washed out court classic sneakers reveal a subdue and anarchiac construction. Embroidered patches on gabardine bags read “Love Me Forever Or Never” and “Time After Time”—  a portrayal of love and affection, and perhaps a timely ode to Valentine’s Day. The stained effect on the embroidered trainers add a personal touch to the everyday shoe. These court classics come in hi-top and low cut-offs, and are available in off-white and soft pastel hues (sand and dusty rose), crafted in a mix of fabric and leather compositions.
