The New Secret Sauce Of Dior’s Capture Totale Le Sérum

The New Secret Sauce Of Dior's Capture Totale Le Sérum
Beyond an efficacy test on 110 different skin tones across two genders from three continents, Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum’s secret anti-ageing sauce goes even deeper.

For the past 30 years, Dior has been cultivating and studying the longoza — a scarlet flower that natives call the “phoenix flower”. As its moniker suggests, the longoza never dies and grows back indefinitely when cut or damaged. It is a genetic feat that locals have harvested as traditional remedy and one that Dior has harnessed to great effect as a skin beautifier for its Capture Totale line.

In its previous iterations in products like the Capture Totale Super Potent Rich Creme, the longoza extract boosted the regenerative power of the skin’s mother cells — cells that restore, repair and regenerate the skin — akin to a wave of energy that energises it.

In its 2023 upgrade with the Capture Totale Le Sérum, Dior has fermented its extract differently to address the prevention of ageing rather than just curing it. The extract now “anchors” the skin’s mother cells into the skin’s derma-epidermal junction (the layer between the epidermis and the dermis), where it stays put and continues performing its good job without weakening.

With the key ingredient sorted, Dior then started to formulate two ingredients that would work on the skin’s surface. The first is a hyaluronic acid poly-filler that combines two weights of the acid — the heavier one aids in tightening and the lighter one penetrates the skin to plump.

Polyglycerol — a humectant that draws moisture into the skin — plumps it further. Tuscan Iris has also been added to its formula, which forms a surface shield on the skin and prevents the surface’s proteins from being damaged by the sun.

As with all of Dior’s skincare products — or any cosmetics from any brand — the goods are only great if people from all walks of life genuinely use them, the Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum is a serum that can be used even by the most hyper-sensitive. An instant-plumper that lasts up to eight hours for dehydration and sagginess, a “wake-up call” for skin that no longer reacts to skincare products with actives or an anti-ageing powerhouse that thickens by 42% and elasticises by 271% — all within just 30 days of using it.

Also, to make sense of the Capture Totale Le Sérum’s adaptability efficacy, the House conducted a test across the USA, Europe and China, and 110 different skin tones from both genders across an age group of 18 to 70 years old — 600 people were tested and the serum’s effectiveness has hit a new record for the brand.
