Dean and Dan Canten, design duo and brothers behind label DSquared2, have always been consistent when it comes to infusing subcultures and breaking sartorial barriers with their seasonal collections. Pre-Spring 2016 is no different. There’s a myriad of influences here – from skater boys, to surfer dudes, and a twinge of geek chic. Strings of looks are spun to create an undefineable aesthetical web, and it’s all part of the DSquared2 appeal. It’s certainly refreshing that primary colours co-existing with soft pastels dominate a segment of the colour palette (duh, it’s spring!) as we rarely spot that level of tonal harmony in menswear. Baggy silhouettes a la laidback surfer bum and a sprinkling of hip-hop style elements can also be found in the collection, making for a nice choice range of casual looks.
