Heading Back Home With Kenzo For FW26

Home becomes both backdrop and muse as Nigo’s Fall Winter 2026 collection for KENZO traces the past to imagine the future.

KENZO turns inward for Fall Winter 2026. Instead of pursuing outward showmanship, Nigo returns to La Maison de Kenzo — the Parisian residence originally occupied by founder Kenzo Takada — as his own creative haven. It is the enduring spirit of the maison that makes the return more than just bitten bait for nostalgia.

A sense of ease carries into the collection itself. Nigo mines deep into KENZO’s archives, reviving an embroidered organza skirt from Spring Summer 1994 and extending its floral motif to contemporary menswear. Varsity jackets meet cowboy shirts. Neo-tailoring is offset by Chinese pankou fastenings, while familiar silhouettes are reassembled through the designer’s instinctive “east-meets-west” references.

Familiarity is the central theme this season. Amid bamboo groves, koi ponds and sunlit interiors, a slow rhythm of living gets embraced with both arms. Lensed by photographer Laura Jane Coulson, campaign stars Nico Hiraga and Lukita Maxwell (yes, you may know her from the psychological horror movie Backrooms) are seen reading, wandering and playing games in Kenzo Takada’s former residence. The most compelling stories for fashion, at least for KENZO, do not always require grand gestures.
