This took Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana ten years to make possible; after ten years of convincing Mongolian herders to set aside the tiny quantity of underfleece from kids (just thirty grams each), they were finally able to launch one of the most exclusive fibres in the world. The coats are then treated with Rain System® — an exclusive Loro Piana technology that makes the fabric water-repellent.
A timeless and genderless silhouette conceived for both men and women, the Sergio Loro Piana coat is offered in three colours – dark claret, desert mist and navy blue. The Sergio Loro Piana coat is further distinguished from the original Ulster with broad lapels, placket pockets, a below-the-knee length, internal shirt sleeves and a half-belt hidden under the two deep pleats in the back, which open from above to allow ease of movement.
Other unique details include six buttons rather than eight, a Melton undercollar and cotton reinforcements in front of the collar and at the lower hem to guarantee, respectively, stability and a more defined three-dimensionality.
