The Mass Effect Of Metaverse Beauty

“This is substance-free intense intimacy through sound.”

The Mass Effect Of Metaverse Beauty
From augmenting an extremist view of self-care to cultivating a commitment towards both emotional and technological intelligence, the humming circuits of the metaverse are fertile ground for makeup artist Kenneth Chia to inform four conjectures about the future of male beauty — masculinity, skincare, nightlife, and emotions — that take on simulated forms by 3D artist JJ Low.

The human brain will run out of power to process the full spectrum of emotions and decision-making. Delicate petals and pitcher plants will form a symbiotic relationship with their host human to reflect their emotional states and collect hormones, enzymes and chemicals to permanently alter neurological states over a long time.

This will usher in a new-age cult of men committed to pursuing sensitivity and emotional intelligence. They will submit entirely to their emotions while eschewing logic so they can feel every feeling on the spectrum and express themselves.

In the Metaverse, a new hyper-masculinity movement appropriates symbols of virility challenges notions of fluidity. Hairstyles will be inspired by ’80s biker gangs, and skin modification will take on the texture of a shark’s denticles alongside abstract tattoos as a statement of anti-beauty. It harkens back to a hunter-gatherer’s purist ideals of maleness.

Skincare will evolve into wearable accessories where clear, taut, and embryonic skin is a prized commodity. It will be considered a radical form of extreme self-care where metabolism-powered microcurrent devices embedded in the face constantly retrain muscles and halt ageing as it happens.

Hydrogen patches recycle bacteria and balance the skin microbiome in real-time, feeding information into smart devices.

We too will connect with each other by receptors that amplify music through our five senses. This trait is born from immersive clubs of the present, where a new generation experiences nightlife at its most heightened form in pure darkness.

This is substance- free intense intimacy through sound and is inspired by sound-reactive equaliser shirts from the noughties, bats and bioluminescent deep sea communication.
