#ManCrushMonday — The Boys Of INTO1 Believe In a Bold Bag Valentino
The bag that the three boys of INTO1 are toting? It’s called the Valentino Garavani Locò shoulder bag.

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re now living in a world of wild, wild, wild shapes and sizes of men’s bags. But before we talk about the Valentino Garavani Locò shoulder bag (it translates strangely, to site from Italian but it is instead a shortened version of locomotive) that the boys of INTO1 are holding above, we have to talk about the vision behind the collection it was sprung from: the Valentino Resort 2022 collection.

The sharp suiting favoured by the Valentino Woman is the Valentino Man's favourite too.
Another cross-over example of Piccioli's vision for Valentino: the gender-neutral tracksuit.

While it was swung on the shoulders or the crooks of the women in the collection, the genius of the Valentino Garavani Locò shoulder bag is that it’s a no-brainer gender neutral piece in today’s context. A sort of low-key ambiguity in its gear towards gender. Think of it this way, the Valentino man can slip into what the Valentino woman can wear and vice versa — as evident by the looks INTO’s Patrick, Zhou Keyu and AK are wearing above. It can even be said that Piccioli lifts silhouettes, prints and fabrics from one table and plonks them onto the other to get to work.

The Valentino Garavani Locò shoulder bag, however, represents a micro-movement that’s going to be big this season: a chance for fashion lovers to reminisce about the golden era of it-bags. There’s some ’90s retro allure to it (you know what we’re referring to it), a kind of downtown urban appeal telegraphed by three colours (black and a neon pink and yellow) and almost like it has been dug out of closets of yore.

Another still of the Valentino bag put to good use: a short film starring INTO1’s SANTA.

Most importantly, however, would be how it addresses the locomotive reference in its name. A removable handle and adjustable, removable chain means it fits the bills of the lives we live, its magnetic fastening means you’ll never have to stop in the middle of the street to open it and its size? An in-between 27cm in width, 13cm in height, and six centimeters in diametres: in short, the Valentino Garavani Locò shoulder bag can fit an iPhone13 and a wallet.
