#ManCrushMonday — Jin’s Classic Thom Browne Suit Calls For Some Fitted Attention

#ManCrushMonday — Jin's Classic Thom Browne Suit Calls For Some Fitted AttentionJin of BTS is refreshingly dashing in a classic Thom Browne wool twill suit in his music video for “The Astronaut”.

Sometimes we forget that suits are fuss-free looks we can throw on without much thought. They are designed to match top and bottom in every aspect, from colour to texture, but when they are made in a bespoke manner, the clothes become even easier to think about and wear — a seamless extension of one’s personality and character.

The reason why it’s not as turned to for younger office-goers now is the suit’s association with age and tradition. People who see the importance of proportions can definitely appreciate a well-fitted formal get-up as a stylistic choice, but those who do not only view the suit as a formal, business-appropriate uniform; a contrast to the relaxed, loose-fitting cotton shirts and pants that are now more acceptable in the workplace.

Unless, of course, the suit piques interest with an element of unconventionality. Case in point, Jin of BTS’s single-breasted classic wool twill suit from Thom Browne, which appeared in the music video for his recent song, “The Astronaut”. The sport coat’s shorter sleeves and pant length not only makes the tailoring more modern and intentionally stylistic, but is also reminiscent of the preppy rock-punk tendencies popularised by icons like The Beatles. This edge gives dimensionality to the look, which shapes Jin up to look even more handsome and confident very casually, if that is even possible.

Paired with the right shirt, tie and a pair of loafers, the look becomes equal part street and sartorial. Take notes for a new look in the upcoming new year — a good investment that can still be worn for formal events, and out and about as a statement that impresses.
