Jin of BTS is refreshingly dashing in a classic Thom Browne wool twill suit in his music video for “The Astronaut”.
Sometimes we forget that suits are fuss-free looks we can throw on without much thought. They are designed to match top and bottom in every aspect, from colour to texture, but when they are made in a bespoke manner, the clothes become even easier to think about and wear — a seamless extension of one’s personality and character.
The reason why it’s not as turned to for younger office-goers now is the suit’s association with age and tradition. The sport coat’s shorter sleeves and pant length not only makes the tailoring more modern and intentionally stylistic, but is also reminiscent of the preppy rock-punk tendencies popularised by icons like The Beatles. This edge gives dimensionality to the look, which shapes Jin up to look even more handsome and confident very casually, if that is even possible.
