Get Cool With Fendi Summer 2025, as Endorsed by Ambassador Bang Chan

Did somebody say Euro Summer?

By Vanessa Grace Ng

A mindset of cool is what makes a Roman summer. Stray Kids leader and Fendi Korea ambassador Bang Chan knows this well, playing a pivotal role in doling out the sun-drenched fashion manifesto that Fendi designed for the world to see in 1977, and again, in 2025.

Personifying the naturalistic traits of Fendi’s Summer 2025 collection, the K-pop star is taking things casual, embracing breeziness with the cocooning silhouettes and oceanic elements of the new summer release, all set against a breezier day out in Italy.

Laid-back ensembles are decorated with newly released archival motifs of red coral, as adapted from the first fashion film of all time, Fendi’s own Histoire d’Eau, which dates back to 1977. Featuring model Susy Dyson in then-creative director Karl Lagerfeld’s summer collection, the 18-minute film depicted a tourist’s journey through Rome, in impeccable style. Inspiring more than just the playful prints for the season, the red coral motif from the film inflects itself in the summer shading of the capsule, as coral red joins other beachy hues of seafoam, sandy terracotta and ocean blue, all of which recall the same sensorial experiences of the Rome in today’s summertime, just like it was in 1977.

Joining Bang Chan and Susy Dyson on this dolce vita crusade is fellow South Korean actress and Fendi Korea ambassador Song Hye Kyo, who basks in the summer’s heat with new key items from the fashion house’s famed accessories line, where the house’s Roman artistry is abundant. As seen on the actress, a laser-cut, trompe l’oeil denim Cuoio Romano leather enrobes the seasonal iteration of the timeless Fendi Baguette. And it’s not the only display of its crafting prowess. Raffia techniques are diverse and abound throughout the capsule, and in the outerwear department, laser cutting and patchwork techniques elevate luxuriant chambray denims and silk jacquard. All of which cohesively echo the maison’s Euro Summer mantra, as it had set in motion close to five decades ago.
