Dolce&Gabbana’s Milan Musings

  • By Cheryl Ong

Dolce&Gabbana exhibit their forward vision with “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” showcase.

The fashion industry, long captivated by the compelling presence of one of fashion’s strongest duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, can now witness their unparalleled vision “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana“, in the halls of the Palazzo Reale in Milan.

Illuminated in this exhibition is the celebration of the values of fatto a mano — “hand-made” in English. The fashion house and its creations have always been characterised by a devotion for hand-crafted excellence, but the most poignant revelation of this exhibition is an exploration of the dreams of Alta Moda — a highlight of the myriad of influences that have shaped Dolce&Gabbana’s collective consciousness. The wellspring of creative stimulus spans artisanal craft, visual arts and architecture, Italian tradition, innovation, theatre, music, opera, ballet and the allure of la dolce vita — all themes that have shaped the brand today, unfolding in the exhibition for visitors to admire.

Curated with finesse by Florence Miller and championed by the Municipality of Milan, the exhibition spotlights Dolce&Gabanna’s magnum opus — culture. This is an esteemed collaboration between the Italian brand and global events leader, IMG.

“From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana”, is testament to the Italian brand’s influence on art and fashion – in addition to paying homage to the pair, it honours its artisans and Milan — the city where it all began.
