Matthieu Blazy debuts the Andiamo — Bottega Veneta’s new bag of the season.

When Bottega Veneta’s SS23 show opened with that 12-time printed nubuck leather flannel look, it was clear that Matthieu Blazy’s founding principle of the House, “craft in motion”, comes with deep thought but is intentionally executed to evade the heaviness of that process. First seen as a quiet companion to the season’s first look, the soft-leathered carry-all has a name that translates to “let’s go” in Italian — a tribute to ‘going places’ and the very sensation of movement. Elegant and functional, the Andiamo presents a new expression of Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato technique in a pragmatic and timelessly tapered volume.

With three sizes to choose from and the option to wear it over the shoulder or hand-held with a top handle, comfort and versatility are designed into the Andiamo. This only shows how thoroughly Blazy’s design ethos drives every move of the House, even extending to the wearer’s experience. There is nothing more luxurious than invisible comfort, and it is this exclusive yet familiar nature that Blazy’s Bottega Veneta prides itself in and makes many stay drawn to it, in the increasingly singular fashion landscape today.

Adorning the Andiamo is a metal knot that fastens the bag’s sliding braided straps. The metal hook, a continuation of the Knot family, has a subtle brass detailing that adds a sculptural effect to this classic — icing the Andiamo with a glint of metallic shine amidst the glaze of buttery paper calf leather.

Equally delectable are the colours the Andiamo comes in. Choose from Glacier (a very light teal), Fondant (dark brown), Barolo (a rich maroon), Travertine (beige green), Inkwell (dark blue), Ice Cream (light pale yellow) and white, with a palette that further defines a bag that is both structural yet clean, the Andiamo’s soft and dynamic design envisions an elevation of everyday living that re-homes without the hassle of adjustment.

As well as the Andiamo fits into the contemporary display of tailoring and footwear seen throughout Bottega Veneta’s SS23 collection; the bag is made to rest comfortably in any other wardrobe.
