Berluti’s refreshed Jour Softy bag makes the case for the all-occasion and all-season leather bags.
The end of summer usually calls for a wardrobe update, even if the concept of four seasons is just a form of calendar marking here in Singapore. Thankfully, the new collections released in accordance to this passing of time are still fit for high temperatures, especially if we are talking about bags.
For this upcoming Fall Winter 2023 season, Berluti has chosen to look back on their Jour Softy bags to add new signature details, two new bags and a new, original seasonal colour.
Debuted last spring, the Jour Softy proposes bags that are compact and made for the on-the-go lifestyles of urban dwellers. Casual, versatile yet effortlessly put together, this bag ensures the resistance and durability needed for day-to-night use thanks to the use of Venezia Softy leather, a particularly supple leather with a subtly grained surface and a lived-in look.
The line’s minimalist use of the signature Scritto motif on the distinctive rounded soft shapes and functional details — natural cotton and linen linings and understated metallic finishings — are enhanced this season by new elements, including adjustable shoulder straps for greater comfort and long-hour carrying, as well as metallic handle frames. The best part is that travel is always effortlessly a part of the design of these bags; the Escape backpack has not only a spacious interior, but is also equipped with a padded section for your laptop and a zipped shoe compartment at the base.
For the two new bags, we have the Postino PM messenger, a smaller version of the Postino, now available with a metallic clasp in an aged silver shade that can be secured with a key. This comfortably fits a laptop in its double compartment, a feature that is also found in Escape, a new flap backpack with a shoe compartment at its base — a nod to the bootmaker heritage of the Maison. If you’re looking to visit urban landscapes beyond those of the country you are currently in, these will come in practical and travel-ready, a perfect match to the wanderlust spirit of the season.
From the Late Hour shopper to the Overnight briefcase and the Journalier cross-body bag, Jour Softy leather goods are available this season in a brand new tone named Indigo Denim — devised by the in-house expert colourists. This is inspired by traditional dark blue pigments with a delicate light touch at the centre, a colour that is both easy to wear and singular in look.
