Jungle Unveils Highly-Anticipated Album “Volcano” and Fan-Exclusive Feature Film

  • By Charmaine Tan

Jungle has been packing hits-on-hits of future nostalgia, and their fourth album “Volcano” is all that and even more — a fan-exclusive feature-length film.

If you’re an avid fan of disco, soul, hip-hop and everything in between, the Mercury-shortlisted Jungle is your one-stop-shop. From “Casio”, “Keep Moving” to “Candle Flame”, “Dominoes” and most recently “Back On 74”, their tracks always hit the sweet spot of refreshing and feel-good in a nostalgic way. Paired with videos of infectious and colourful dancing, the experience of their eclectic sound can only be described as addictive, uplifting and undeniably of the time — a gathering of sounds, old and new.

Their fourth album, “Volcano”, is a trip into a new euphoric dimension that is not only irresistibly joyous, but also a testament to the duo’s slick vision of sonic success. The analogue-textured album flows from the bold mission statement of opener Us Against The World to the laid-back grooves of the closing track Pretty Little Thing — their second collaboration with Bas.

Jungle dart from highlight-to-highlight throughout the album, stepping up the intensity for Holding On, before heading deeper into vibrant disco-soul for Problemz“, introducing their broadest array of creative community collaborators to date.

The new focus track “You Ain’t No Celebrity”, the seventh track of the album, reveals a different side to this compilation. The track starts with a lilting gospel fervour before switching up to a punchy hip-hop beat, as featured artist and legendary UK rapper Roots Manuva jumps in with his inimitable, charismatic bars.

With ‘VOLCANO’, Jungle have once again proven themselves to be one of the most exciting and innovative artists in electronic music. While it’s innovative in an expected way, their direction remains clear and easy to follow, solidifying the duo’s status as one of the most important and progressive voices of creativity in contemporary music.

This release also comes with Jungle’s first feature-length film, ‘VOLCANO, The Motion Picture’. The full film will be hosted on the Jungle Fan Club website and available exclusively to those who have purchased a Premiere Pass, which will allow you to watch the full film on-demand from August 11th until December 31st 2023.
