Bottega Veneta Turns To The Urban For Spring

Tomas Maier continues with his “art of collaboration” for Bottega Veneta, looking east this time with famed Japanese photographer and contemporary artist Nobuyoshi Araki. Known for arresting images that often feature an erotic slant, Araki surprisingly sets aside his pet theme for the Italian label’s latest campaign, pitting models Saskia de Brauw and Park Sungjin against a rough, industrial landscape of cement, metal and concrete. Araki’s take, shot in Tokyo, is a stark contrast to the lush, saccharine floral images lensed by Maier’s previous collaborating photographer, Ryan McGinley.

Araki is the latest to join the slew of contemporaries who have photographed for Bottega Veneta. Previous collaborators include David Sims, Pieter Hugo, David Armstrong, Ralph Gibson and Sam Taylor-Johnson.
