Throughout the month of February 2021, Men’s Folio has been exploring the theme of “self-love“. However, one’s purpose in life is not always just about loving yourself.
Often times, it can get boring with just loving oneself. Then, we question (at one time or another) the purpose of life.
When such moments strike, I take comfort in being thankful for all the good in my life or I get inspired by people who are thankful for the good in their life — this playlist has a good dose of such.

Sam Rui — Crew
Other than my obvious bias towards Sam Rui, her tribute towards her crew really struck a chord deep in my heart. I got my crew so it’s all good \ Everybody stick together \ Everybody grow together. People around me (or those who knows me on Social Media) know that the Men’s Folio team is my second family and I 100% know the title’s success could not have happened without them.
I’m so f***ing sick of small talk and PR questions \ But i got to leave my home to get these papers signed \ I wanna pay the boys on time, Rui has sung my innermost dialogue — the boys are my purpose, the ones keeping me going everyday.

The Black Eyed Peas — Where Is The Love? ft. Justin Timberlake
There are days when so much negativity comes rushing in, I just want to lie in bed and look at the ceiling. Then, I will tune into this song after 30 minutes and have Justin Timberlake “shout” at me with where is the love?
Upon first listen, I was extremely attracted to this song because I could hear all of P!nk’s emotions. Then I went to watch the music video and read up more about it, I found out it was P!nk’s purpose of bringing attention to the people who fell through the cracks in the American political system. To me, this is the mark of a true artiste — someone who uses his/her/their influence and talent to better the world.
