The Perrier-Jouët’s Blanc de Blancs is the Finest of Fizzes

The Perrier-Jouët’s Blanc de Blancs is Some Finest Fizz
For over 210 years, the champagne house of Maison Perrier-Jouët has been lubicrating celebrations and commemorations with what lies beneath the sparkly depths of its bottle. The finesse of this fizz is not solely in its creamy mouthful and heady aftertaste, it is also owing to the house’s savoir faire (Maison Perrier-Jouët still has a tight unit of only seven Cellar Masters since its foundation) and its profound love for nature and art that translates into said bottle — effervescent liquid vehicle that has fuelled many a momentous occasion. The lavishness of the Belle Époque, blinding glamour of the Roaring Twenties, wild opulence of the eighties and all the occasions — big or small — we celebrate today.

The modernity of Perrier-Jouët’s Blanc de Blancs — the latest bottle of bubbly from the French house — however, lies in its nod to tradition. Its breathtaking bottle is thanks to the eagles eyes of Hervé Deschamps, Maison Perrier-Jouët’s seventh Cellar Master while its flavoursome taste is due to crafting of this crisp clear liquid entirely with Chardonnay grapes and a small proportion of reserve wines for consistency in quality.

While Perrier-Jouët’s Blanc de Blancs can and should be considered the quintessential party fuel, one is encouraged to delve a little further into its taste past the enthusiastic, celebratory pop. The champagne opens with a fresh, bright floral taste (elderberry, acacia and honeysuckle flowers) and a subtle biscuit character before rounding itself in one’s mouth with a smooth, mellow finish. Toast tchin-tchin like they do in France, take a sip and swish it around in one’s mouth — the mousse is crisp, the fruit is clean and snappy while the fruit is vivacious. Accompanied with two flutes, it is bound to be the perfect party pleaser.

Come 1 March 2021, the Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs will be available at selected wine specialty shops and restaurants or as a members exclusive on LeCercle.
