With the release of the film “La Collection De L’Arc de Triomphe”, Celine Beauté — the first cosmetics line in the house’s history — is born.

It’s no longer news for a luxury house to have its own grooming arm, but it’s certainly news for these legacy houses to only announce their entry into this twin flame industry now. Celine has managed to keep away until 2019, when it launched Celine’s first haute parfumerie collection, and will from here on expand into the beauty space with the release of its women’s Winter 2024 collection film — Celine Beauté.

Created by Hedi Slimane in 2023 and scheduled to launch in Fall 2024, we’re expecting lipsticks, lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners, eye pencils, loose powder and blush cases for the complexion, and even nail polishes, all encased in specially designed bottles and cases. Said to enrich Celine’s cultural roots by promoting a Parisian take of femininity and allure, it’s no brainer that first beauty product to launch is a classic and undeniably French red lipstick — an essential satin-finish shade named “Rouge Triomphe” that will be dressed in a faceted gold sheath and embossed with the Maison’s couture monogram.

Promising radiance, hydration, and a commitment to clean beauty with a composition of 89% natural origin ingredients, the Rouge Triomphe does not just answer to swift application and long-wear demands, but also is an extension of Slimane’s own obsession with all things couture. The lipstick’s scent reminds of a 70’s accord of rose and rice powder — a signature powdery note and olfactory style setting that characterises the entire Celine Haute Parfumerie Collection — and finishes with a texture that brings to mind the exquisite touch of satin itself. And of course, the case; gold for lipsticks and silver for lip balms, is where the couturier looks to late 18th century French-style classicism, notably Louis XVI gold jewellery and the distinctive modernist minimalism of art deco, for inspiration — to craft the refillable couture cases.

But the red won’t be the only shade. The Le Rouge Celine lipstick collection is scheduled to launch in January 2025 in 15 satin-finish colours, including the classic nude shade “La Peau Nue”, highlighting the lips of the models in the “Triomphe” film.
