El Mac, Sueños y Polvo de Estrellas
Miuccia Prada’s spectacularly magnificent Spring/Summer 2014 womenswear collection didn’t just end with the gloriously remarkable clothes; the runway setting was faced with murals that brought the entire presentation to a whole new level of marvel! Prada commissioned women’s portraits from six current contemporary artists (in collaboration with the New York-based design firm 2×4) to co-respond with her collection, imposing no barriers or constraints except she wants “an active, strong woman.” When all the frescos were completed, Prada was surprised that all the artists painted nothing but faces, a particularly noticeable absence of the body. According to Prada, “The women on the walls represent the multiplicity of guises that women assume in the course of a day or a lifetime.” Just see the grand setting for yourself and ravel at the genius that is Ms. Miuccia Prada.
