Slow is smooth and smooth is fast, and how fast has the time gone; Montblanc is already celebrating the 100th anniversary of its famed Meisterstück. As part of the festivities, the German luxury house is dressing almost every line in thematic party attire in one way or another — or in this case, in a way and another.

The Montblanc Soft collection, whose name is borne out of its supple, sumptuous leather make, is getting a dual festive update for its anniversary capsule.

As a nod to the Meisterstück, the line of leather goods is re-envisioned as an ode to the house’s iconic fountain pen with a new nib-shaped closure, and the new arrival of an inky hero shade. Combining the dark-pool blue that joins the Soft’s jewel-toned palette, and the metallic addition of the Montblanc nib detail, the dual update reminds of stars that have graced the era that has been and simultaneously the stars that will come in the next. Here’s to what the next hundred years of Montblanc might bring.
