#ManCrushMonday — Youngdeuk Kwon Breaks the Rules In the TOD’S In Our Shoes Campaign
You might not associate TOD’s shoes with anything potentially crinkle inducing like dancing (there is a reason why some men take their shoes off before proposing) but Yongdeuk Kwon thinks of them as breaking the rules for the TOD’s In Our Shoes campaign.

A Korean dancer who rose to fame as half of a twin-dance partnership (you might remember them as backup dancers for 2NE1), Youngdeuk Kwon has quite literally returned the art of break dancing in Seoul to the periphery of pop culture. To put it simply, he has brought it back to the streets of Seoul in the campaign itself. Albeit this time, with professional dancer HyunIk Lee and Red Velvet’s Joy.

Together, the three protagonists in the TOD’s In Our Shoes campaign share a desire for a challenge — the sublime modernity in movement (watch them really groove!) reaches out to all in its pure contemporary culture vibe.

Youngdeuk Kwon is creating a crease or as we’d like to call it in a cultural context, a footwear mark of honour.

Let’s talk about the TOD’s Tab Sneakers now, a pair that has been tricked out with high-end details courtesy of Water Chiapponi,  TOD’S creative director. Each sneaker is made of calfskin and suede and comes with the type of luxurious details you already expect from the Italian house — the iconic Gommino pebbles on the heel counter and suede trimmings with ultra clean graphic lines.

It’s now available on the TOD’s site so once you’re done relooping the In Our Shoes campaign (Rookie! Rookie!), click here to catch up with our June/July 2021 issue.
