Watches as the Leading Stars of Their Own Movies

What happens when watches are reinterpreted as leading stars of their own movies? No one knows for sure, that is why we got the help of five local illustrators to present five different movie posters with the newest watches in lead roles.

Pictured above: TAG Heuer

A partnership that was waiting to happen has finally landed as TAG Heuer and Porsche join forces to present one of the year’s biggest announcements — the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph Special Edition. With motor racing embedded deep in their DNAs, the timepiece clearly exudes those cues with the appropriate choice of colours and a textured dial resembling asphalt.

Tissot

Urban-scapes form the source of inspiration of Tissot’s PR 100 Gent Chrono, with geometric shapes and strong lines that are seen in the design of the timepiece. The all-steel outlook is punctuated with a navy dial that is thoroughly masculine as its name suggests.

Hublot

Hublot’s advance foundry sees the creation of Magic Gold, the world’s first ever scratchproof 18K alloy, paired with ceramic for unrivalled hardness and durability. The watch on the receiving end of this material fusion is the Big Bang MP-11 Magic Gold, with 14-days power reserve in a series of vertical barrels.

Rado

Rado roped in Li Edelkoort for its True Thinline Designer collection to present the True Thinline Stillness — her vision of purity and escape from life’s bustles of manifested in a watch. The monochromatic execution stands out particularly with the natural sheen and softness that high-tech ceramic radiates.

Omega

Omega’s latest take on their Speedmaster Moonwatch sees their in-house Co-Axial calibre incorporated into the historically important timepiece for the first time ever. As part of the update is a new bracelet that improves the ergonomics and comfort when worn.
