When Moncler announced its Moncler Genius project last year, heads were turned and gasps were heard when the Italian Maison sought to break away from traditional biannual collections alongside a posse of influential designers.
This time proves to be no different. Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM has been the talk of the town since his involvement with Dior Men’s Spring/Summer’19 collection and he is bringing along this newfound momentum as he joins the Moncler Genius project. Accompanying him is British designer Richard Quinn, who was awarded the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design by the Queen herself. Her Majesty was impressed with Quinn’s aesthetics after attending his Fall/Winter’18 show last year during.
Keep your eyes peeled on Moncler; the Geniuses’ visions will be unveiled in Milan on 20 February with an event presenting the Moncler Genius collections from the whole line-up. Expect the Moncler Genius Building to metamorphose into a symposium of creative minds under one cohesive identity.
