The year 2017 reaffirms to many that wearing unconventional ‘dad’ sneakers is no longer a by-product of kitsch-y society, but rather, a show of good taste. This has visually manifested in Balenciaga’s Triple S sneaker — fashion’s unfathomable footwear that has been lurking around the Internet and slowly seeping into our consciousness as this year’s must-have.
Such is the ingenuity of Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia, an artist who managed to push the boundaries of the normcore aesthetic into a covetable objet d’art.
At 11AM on 30 November, Balenciaga will be releasing a new colourway of the Triple S sneaker in collaboration with Dover Street Market. The exclusive model will be released at Dover Street Market Singapore, as well as London, New York and Ginza.
