The Gucci Run Sneakers Take Luxury Out For A Jog

  • By Charmaine Tan

The Gucci Run Sneakers Take Luxury Out For A JogThe Gucci Run sneakers paint the bold chromatic patterns of the Italian house onto a sleek, streamlined and technical running shoe.

Gucci’s lavish patterns have found a home in almost every one of fashion’s corners. The colour prints are decadent and iconic, yet it manages to transform every item into a former resident of the House of Gucci.

In the latest application of Gucci’s lavish blueprint, the jewel tones of the pastoral prints are appropriated onto an athletic shoe, except with the clarity and saturation cranked up to a maximum. A running shoe to be exact, and one whose streamlined shape looks like it was designed to support exercise, the Gucci Run sneakers are vibrant and complex in visuals, spiralling lines and the unmistakable Interlocking G logo bringing to life this luxury label’s interpretation of shoes to, unexpectedly, walk in; it is only through stillness that we can tap into creativity and movement of thought, hence the Gucci Run trainer wants you to slow it down.

The Gucci Run Sneakers Take Luxury Out For A JogFirst appeared on the runway of the Italian house’s “Love Parade” showing, the shoe brings to life how Gucci “dresses up” as someone preparing to go for a run — the drama and fanfare of exaggerated or “inspired” dressing an overarching theme for this colourful Spring Summer 2022 show.

Except the Gucci Run sneakers are real and made in Italy, the technical knit fabric and bi-colour wavy midsole signs of the house’s commitment to making a luxury sneaker that (looks like it) does the job.

Part of Gucci’s MX, a selection that embraces freedom of expression and explores identity norms, the Gucci Run sneakers now come in a handful of more interesting colour combinations that are bold enough to make every stride forward feel that much more intentional and thorough. Other than the fingerprint-like patterns that run through the double G logo from earlier this year, this dispatch includes more intense prints that range from exotic swatches of floral to a bright red rendition of the marble’s swirls on the midsole.

It is an elevation of the everyday, versatile shoe with a luxurious edge without the loss of its practical function. Yet again, Gucci proves that it is always ahead of the trend game with outputs that challenge top-selling products that frankly, quickly become runner-ups in this race.
