The Macallan M Collection Showcase Makes a Pit Stop in Singapore
From 17th to 26th August at ION Orchard, the Macallan M Collection showcase is a deep dive into the history of the Scotch whisky brand.

For 198 years, the liquid gold of The Macallan has always been distilled using “Six Pillars” — Natural Colour, Mastery, Curiously Small Spirit Stills, The Estate, Exceptional Oak Casks, and Sherry Seasoning. Funnily enough, the first letter of each forms the word “Scent”, a sense one gets with every sip from a dram. There is the sweet scent of sherry that comes from Sherry Seasoning (a process of maturing in sherry wine oak casks), a crisp one on the tongue that comes from the freshwater used from River Spey that The Estate overlooks, and if you’re already a fan, the dried fruit and dark chocolate notes that are unique to the brand.

With the latest Macallan M Collection showcase, three new limited edition whiskies have been added to complete the brand’s dedication to its pillars. The Macallan M, M Black, and M Copper that celebrates Natural Colour, Mastery, and Curiously Small Spirit Stills respectively.

Lensed by Nick Knight, drams ranging from The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old to The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old are available at the collection’s showcase for purchase from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm. The decanters, crafted by crystal maker Lalique, were also designed by Fabien Baron.

The copper-themed installation (a reference to the Copper Single Malt) also displays imagery from fashion photographer Nick Knight that captures the vibe of each expression and if you have time to kill, an interactive table at the showcase is a lesson about the new Macallan M collection and old favourites from the Double Cask collection.
