Conquer the Outdoors With the Luminox Bear Grylls Mountain 3730 SeriesLuminox honours Bear Grylls’ ascent to Mount Everest with a special creation.

From eating a live snake on Man vs Wild to terrorising celebrities on Running Wild with Bear Grylls, celebrity survivalist Bear Grylls has done those mentioned and (much) more with a Luminox watch strapped on his wrist. His affinity with Luminox blossomed into a partnership that has established itself as one of the brand’s pillars. Luminox’s bread-and-butter tactical and military-inspired watch designs, like the Navy SEALs collection, are now joined by Grylls’ adventure-inspired watch designs.

Conquer the Outdoors With the Luminox Bear Grylls Mountain 3730 SeriesThe latest Luminox-Bear Grylls partnership comes in the form of the Luminox Bear Grylls Mountain 3730 Series. In working with a larger-than-life personality like Grylls, naming the collection Mountain is pretty apt given a mountain’s sheer scale and the reverence it commands. There is a backstory to it, too. Grylls was the youngest Briton to summit Mount Everest at 23 years old in 1998 during one of his earlier expeditions. The achievement is all the more impressive, given Grylls had broken his back due to a parachuting accident 18 months prior.

As a tribute to the 25th anniversary of Grylls’ historic ascent, Luminox unveiled a limited edition piece with an engraving of his motto proudly engraved on the watch’s chapter ring. The white, blue, and red on the watch’s dial, strap, and crown, respectively, are a nod to Nepal’s flag, where Mount Everest casts its magnificent presence. Other interesting bits of details, such as Mount Everest’s height, Bear Grylls’s tent logo, the raised stencilled numerals and a removable bull bar, riddle the timepiece. Luminox’s proprietary case material, Carbonox™, is chosen for its lightweight and tough properties that lend themselves useful when used in tandem with the watch case’s 200m water resistance in outdoor adventures. Also debuting with this collection are the newly designed integrated rubber straps that meld seamlessly within the watch lugs.

Conquer the Outdoors With the Luminox Bear Grylls Mountain 3730 SeriesThe Luminox Bear Grylls Mountain 3730 collection is rounded off with three other dial colourways in black with orange, green, or sand outer rings paired with the signature Bear orange crown. As with all Luminox watches, the brand’s Luminox Light Technology (LLT) are embedded in the dial periphery, illuminating up to 25 years naturally in the dark without needing a light source to charge it.
