A Season of Watch Newness in Time for June

We picked out five recent releases, from ultra haute horology to maximum beach vibes, worth your attention for the start of June.

With a new season of watchmaking well and underway, the releases are coming in thick and fast. Here are several noteworthy pieces that span the entire spectrum of complexity, ranging from Louis Vuitton’s chiming interstellar odyssey to TAG Heuer’s history making Monaco, worth your attention.

Louis Vuitton Tambour Taiko Galactique

Louis Vuitton presents a fantastical interstellar odyssey with its Tambour Taiko Galactique. Set against the backdrop of space crafted from four enamelling techniques, the exceptional creation marries the melodious chime of the cathedral gong minute repeater with an automata dial. When the slide piece is actuated on demand, the watch chimes the time while the astronaut and six other dial animations come alive for a visual spectacle. Given the movement’s mechanical complexity, 220 hours were required to assemble the LFT AU14.02 calibre specially designed for this journey into space.

Hublot MP-10 Tourbillon

The Hublot MP-10 Tourbillon family propels forward this year with an avant-garde sapphire case rendition. The one-half of this year’s double release sees the titanium case swapped out in favour of Hublot’s signature sapphire touches, allowing light to flood into and illuminate the cavernous, monochromatic interior. Though the general design blueprint and calibre HUB9013 remain untouched, the new case offers a different dimension to the 30-piece limited edition masterpiece as the 592-component interior appears to levitate within.

TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch

TAG Heuer made history and became the first title partner of the recently concluded Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco. A limited edition timepiece (970 pieces), the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch, was released as a fitting tribute to mark the milestone. Inspired by emblematic Heuer stopwatches from the 1960s and 1970s, the watch is filled with Easter egg details that hark back to Jack Heuer’s vision of legibility and precision. A black DLC-coated titanium case features a true-to-era left sided crown and houses the Calibre 11 movement.

Tudor Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25”

Tudor’s partnership with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team races ahead with the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25”. With weight being the enemy of speed, the watch case is forged from lightweight carbon fibre, an essential material in F1 cars, and finished with a black-PVD titanium case back and chronograph pushers. A contrasting domed racing white dial inspired by the livery of the F1 team car features a generous splash of blue and contrasting carbon fibre sub-counters. The Tudor Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25” is limited to 2025 pieces, each with a specially engraved case back.

Tissot Seastar Chronograph 38mm

Tissot unveils its fresh take on the Tissot Seastar Chronograph 38mm, evoking a summer’s embrace while affirming the brand’s unending pursuit of performance. A vibrant teal dial and silicone strap set the mood for a poolside afternoon, amid contrasting accents from a PVD rose gold case. It offers a water-resistance of 300 metres, so a cool dip is always on the cards for those unafraid to venture deeper.
