Men’s Folio rounds up all the noteworthy collaborations to materialise from SS24’s fashion weeks.
A month worth of Fashion Weeks is great for many reasons. Fans get to witness idols take on the FROW in style, runways are usually one-upped by another in extravagance (recall Versace’s never ending roster of supermodels?), and shows are as thematic as they are theatric. Yet, at its core, Fashion Month can perhaps best be appreciated for the glimpse into the exclusive world of fashion — as runways become stages for designers to show off their latest collaborators or continued partnerships.
Reactionary partnerships are not new. By now, the marrying of high luxury with modern street is almost formulaic, and an integral constitution to continually incite appeal among fashion’s audience. The crossover of luxury houses has not surprised either, as past seasons have seen Miu Miu joining forces with sister label Church’s, while Balenciaga and Gucci have notoriously collaborated to produce a contentious collection laden with monogrammatic GGs and BBs.
For SS24, there was an incline toward the indie. Mules ruled — with houses like Simone Rocha and Chopova Lowena exploring informality via footwear partnerships with Crocs and Uggs respectively — while streetwear emphasised its hold over the luxury industry through a slew of Puma and New Balance collaborations.
Get your wishlists ready, as Men’s Folio brings the down low on all of Fashion Month’s noteworthy collaborations.
