You’ve probably owned an Eastpak or seen your peer wear an Eastpak back when you were young, and maybe, that’s about to change again. Diesel adds Eastpak to their list of creative collaborators, now showing off a new collection of denim carryalls — from the taking on the classic Eastpak backpack silhouette to Diesel’s raw-edged denim take on travel luggage.
The two brands merge their identities effortlessly, despite being rooted in opposite continents — the Italian rebel crosses his path with the Massachusetts skater. That’s the spirit of Eastpak x Diesel, and it’s a delight that not only clashes with attitudes but with materiality and physicality as well.
Diesel weaves itself into the collaboration through irreverent gestures and sly illusions, leaving a presence that is both playful and subversive. The collaboration mark is one of deconstruction: peeling away to reveal Eastpak’s logo emblem, areminder of the brand’s roots beneath Diesel’s rebellious veneer. The collection unfolds across two distinct expressions: denim rendered as trompe l’oeil, and a bold collision of contrasting materials, implementing Eastpak’s Cordura fabric and Diesel denim together.
Within the trompe l’oeil series, Diesel’s signatures resurface almost as apparitions, multipocket constructions, worn textures and the discreet coin-pocket label — printed on so precisely it hovers between simulation and reality. Eastpak’s iconic teen-spirit silhouettes: the Day Pak’r, the Shoulder Bag, the Shop’rTot and transformed and refracts Diesel’s codes through the same illusion technique that Diesel is well known for.
The Transit’r luggage, available in both small and large sizes, is the collection’s most noticeable and eye-catching statement piece, a hybrid of fashion and function where imagined details and tangible craft intertwine, embodying the surrealistic tension at the heart of the collaboration. From backpacks to luggage, the Diesel x Eastpak collaboration reveals more about how we move through the world — raw, irreverent and never afraid to stand out. Carry it, wear it, and most importantly, own it.
