Dior Unveils a Cali-cool Sustainable Beachwear Capsule Collection
Evoking a relaxed, vintage feel, the nostalgic 90s Cali-cool, surfer aesthetic gets a luxe, contemporary makeover in this trendy beachwear capsule collection by Dior Men and Parley for the Oceans, created with the ocean in mind.

Artistic director of Dior’s men’s collection, Kim Jones, has teamed up with Parley for the Oceans, an environmental organisation and collaborative network addressing major ocean threats with a strategy called Parley Air: Avoid, Intercept Redesign. Crafted in blue Parley Ocean Plastic® technical taffeta, which is made from upcycled materials, the debut collaboration introduces a selection of environmentally conscious, incredibly on-trend pieces that embody Dior’s desire to move towards a more eco-innovative sustainable future for fashion.

The trends of the early 00s are here to stay, and this summer, Jones emulates the relaxed, slightly rebellious, boyish charm of the era’s popular surfer style. Warm, yellow-tinged ochre orange hues, evocative of sunset drenched beaches, present themselves in a brighter and more burnt variation, paired with a classic, contemporary navy blue, the mix of colours cleverly infuses Dior’s timeless touch into a beachwear look that was highly popular with youths and young adults back in the day.

Dior Unveils a Cali-cool Sustainable Beachwear Capsule CollectionThe 90s and early 00s vibe continue throughout the collection. Sporty sweatshirts featuring a vivid, statement-making, sky blue and retro-sportswear feel, off-white and navy colour block design are seen teamed with cargo shorts, creating summer-perfect athleisure looks that combine modern minimalism with an edgy, cool surfer vibe.

For a breezier look, crisp, white t-shirts are seen teamed with short-sleeved shirts whisking you off to the oceanfront boardwalks of California. One of the standout looks presents a shirt and shorts twinset, adorned with the maison’s iconic archival Dior Oblique pattern. Playing perfectly into the logomania trend, the sky blue mixed with white and ochre stripe motif lend a touch of polish and a hint of sportswear, presenting a crisper option amidst the more casual summer looks.
