An Extensive Look at Banana Republic X Peter Do

  • By Vanessa Grace Ng

It’s happening — Banana Republic X Peter Do finally launches today.

Good news to all Peter Do fans, the famed Vietnamese designer’s lore is expanding… and will be available sooner than you think. Launching 10 October at 3pm SGT, is the Banana Republic X Peter Do collaboration, as teased on the designer’s own runway for SS24.

“The end goal is to make clothes that you want to wear. To give people more options to wear something they love” said Do in a statement. And options did they provide — in anticipation of the release, the partners have released a 36-look strong teaser on their social media.

An assemblage of smart-casual neutrals, the looks are laden with Do-isms of architectural tailoring, form-flattering cuts and his skill of turning the slouchy into sexy. Standout pieces (that we will be adding to our personal carts) include black knit number finished with well-positioned arm cutouts; a maxi coat with concealed pleats, and double-creased high-waist trousers.

And if you are yet to be sold, the collection is prominently modular. Do’s signature for detachables and transitional pieces are exemplified here — as turtleneck sweaters and trench coats all see some form of transformative quality that provides as much utility as it does, Singapore-weather resistance.

The Banana Republic X Peter Do collection will be available October 10 at 3pm SGT, online or in Banana Republic stores. Once you’re done with this story, click here to catch up with our October 2023 issue.
