A new look for the new year: Cologne-hailing luxury luggage-makers RIMOWA are imbuing a spanking new shade to its line of emblematic Essential range. The house’s iconic trunks are now fully clad in saturated Sea Blue, from its grooved shell down to its wheel housing. Duality is explored in RIMOWA’s pick of the palette: as punchy as it is mellow, its new veneer reflects a balanced vibrancy, elucidating an overall vision of calm. Inspired by the oceanic qualities of renewal and regeneration, the spunky new casing draws the essence of the sea — of such duality, and an energy of serenity and restorative virtues.
For the pioneers in premium luggage — who deftly designed the first ever aluminium, and then polycarbonate trunk — the pigmented update reflects a continued endeavour of maintaining what can be termed as a contemporary focus. And as everything else remains, the polycarbonate trunks will flex the familiar: from a stage-free telescopic handle, TSA-approved locks, to its innovative Multiwheel system that guarantees a journey as serene as its new shade.
And for the traveller who likes the idea of a well-coordinated excursion, a series of similarly-tinged accessories are also available to complement the new trunk. Packing cubes and toiletry pouches are too, injected with a healthy dose of tranquil blue, perfect to puzzle into the trunks’ dual-organisation interiors, where the classic Flex Divider will come in handy to then compartmentalise and sort.
