Inspired by the enchanting interplay between the pure beauty of pearls and the commanding allure of mysterious black, the Mikimoto Ear Cuff in Japanned Noir with Black South Sea Cultured Pearl highlights the collection’s quest to explore uncharted territories of jewellery design. Here, the entire piece undergoes Japanning — a lacquer finish originating in Japan known for providing protection and adornment to metallic objects. Mimicking the perfect roundness of the Black South Sea Cultured Pearl, the Ear Cuff takes a similar approach with its sensuous curves. Its ergonomics are well-considered as wearing it is as simple as slipping the cuff on the thinnest part of the upper ear before adjusting it to nestle comfortably around the cartilage.
