Garmin’s new compact cycling computers are now packed with more functions that will be able to help new or skilled cyclists ride smarter and train harder.
Whether you are one of the many Singaporeans that have recently picked up cycling as a hobby or is an experienced cyclist, Garmin’s latest release is one to ease your cycling adventures truly. The Edge 540 and Edge 840 Series are two new compact and lightweight GPS cycling computers with an updated mapping system, new performance tracking metrics and longer battery life which will be deemed handy for rides.
If you are keen on improving your cycling performance, look no further, as the new tracking metrics are able to monitor and analyse data from all of your rides. Besides receiving a comprehensive picture of overall health and wellness — when paired with a Garmin smartwatch — users are able to monitor how their body responds to heat and altitude acclimatisation and set up in-ride reminders when it’s time to refuel or rehydrate during rides.
This new release also features solar models suited for those who enjoy going for longer rides. While battery life has been upgraded to 26 hours on the standard device, the solar models can last up to 32 hours.
The Edge 840 includes a touchscreen display compared to the standard 2.6-inch colour display and button controls of the Edge 540. It also includes additional functions such as rider-to-rider messaging, incident detection, and in-ride challenges.
