What makes some of these local or global creatives tick? In this weekly column, Brian Ng — Co-founder and Director of KC Group of Companies— shares his favourite things.
1. Homemade prawn noodles soup: My favourite comfort food has to be homemade prawn noodles soup. It helps when my wife loves to cook! I love the aroma of the soup coming from the prawn heads and pork ribs. Besides adding more ingredients such as big prawns, she prepares lots of fried shallot and red chilli to go along with it too!
2. Cheese platters: I love my cheese platter served with a variety of fruits and nuts. This colourful cheese platter was assembled by my wife and it was indeed as delectable as it looks!
3. The Great Outdoors: I enjoy the outdoors and jog regularly at different locations, including the Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay. Kayaking is one of my favourite activities and I treasure and appreciate every opportunity I have to bring my children out to sea.
While creating memories with our outings and activities, I also observed how each child reacts in their own way to new environments, develops self-awareness, optimism, perseverance, problem solving skills and patience. This experience has helped me to better understand my children and build a stronger relationship with them.
