Every week, the Men’s Folio Team shares the latest tech items that they desire, not limiting to whether these gadgets will actually end up in their possession. This week, it’s all about cars.
Maybe getting a car doesn’t sound so good in Singapore, but let’s be honest — it’s a milestone event to drive something you own. While it is more appealing to cruise around somewhere with less traffic, wider roads and better scenery, anyone can dream.
From six humble car appreciators with only one having a driving license, here are Men’s Folio’s dream cars.
Bryan Goh, Deputy Editor: Microlino in pink
To the irritation of my friends who pimp their rides, I have no idea how to differentiate cars which coincidentally, makes me the worst person to look out for Grab rides.
The Microlino however, is so effing cute; it comes in bubblegum pink, is called an electric bubble car (ahhh!!!), and has ample horsepower (whatever that means…).
Charmaine Tan, Senior Digital Writer: Audi TT Coupé
Luxury, sporty, spacious, powerful — been dreaming about this cool, everyday show-stopper since I could recognise the brands and models of cars. Not kidding.
Asaph Low, Managing Editor: Mercedes-AMG G 63
Scoot aside flashy supercars, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 is menacing and intimidating and has me eyeing it up for a long time. The only problem is how am I going to afford this in Singapore?
Lance Aeron, Art Assistant: BMW I7 in sparkling metallic cool grey.
The sleek design of my dream car compliments anything and everything.
Izwan Abdullah, Associate Creative Director: Jeep Wrangler 4xe
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the only car Izwan would consider getting a driving license for.
Manfred Lu, Senior Stylist and Fashion Writer: Porsche 911 Turbo
I’ve never been into cars — sure, it’s convenient but is it really worth all the hassle in Singapore? But if there’s anything Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune has taught me, it’s that with enough credits, always go with 911.
