Technically speaking, any music that is considered “off-centred” would be the sounds that come out of Björk’s mouth in my opinion. No shade though, I really like her. “Homogenic” was a banger. But because I can game for an inordinate amount of time (68 hours was my best), I’m here to talk about some gaming music that I would consider adding to an “off-centred” playlist.
A little strange, a little creepy or sometimes, actually quite calming. Leave this off-centred playlist on while you do spreadsheets to pretend you’re in an Ari Aster horror movie or just let it loop continuously to destroy your psyche. Hey, it’s pretty fun.

Barbie Horse Adventures: Blue Ribbon Race
A good friend turned me on to this song by asking “OMG BRYAN IT SOUNDS LIKE BJÖRK’S “VESPERTINE”!!!” and strangely, it really does. What an unexpected ambient track though. I really like the binaural beats and how calming it is. Almost an quite 1980s SEGA beat in way.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls — Absolute Despair Girl
It’s quite hilarious to me that this track (yeah yeah yeah…mmm…mmm…mmm….yeah yeah yeah….) plays while a bunch of schoolkids go about massacring adults that have wronged them. Could it be anymore inappropriate? Of course. There’s a lot of blood shed. Do I love its groovy funky beat? Yeah yeah yeah.

Silent Hill 2 — Love Psalm
I talk about Silent Hill 2 all the time to anybody who has the patience to listen to me. In fact, I think it’s one of the best games ever made. Beautiful storytelling + psychological horror + the perfect spin on darkness humans hold = this damn game. But this song is a masterpiece. It’s like you’re floating in space and nothing else matters.

Sonic CD (USA) Music: Boss
Six-year old me was not ready for how creepy this song was. In fact, I actually had a sleep paralysis episode with this song playing in my head. How is it so creepy? What was SEGA thinking? Why do I love it so much?!
