A One Stop Shop for Last Minute Mother’s Day Experiences

  • By Charmaine Tan

If you’re looking to pamper mom but haven’t the time to sift through the promotions and offers out there to give her the best time, here’s a specially curated list of things we’ve prepared for the perfect mom-and-me day that consists of things to do, eat or buy so she feels like the one in a million woman she deserves to be loved as.

1. Lunch at Ginkyo by Kinki (pictured above)

If you like the convivial open air space at the newly opened One Holland Village mall, consider a lunch there this Mother’s Day weekend at Ginkyo by Kinki. A special occasion set menu highlighting contemporary Japanese takes via dishes like Ginkyo’s signature rice crispies — Uni, Caviar, Ikura, a variety of sushi and sashimi and mains like melt-in-the-mouth Ohmi Wagyu Steak. The dessert is a creamy Kohi Custard Purin dessert, and all mothers can also enjoy a complimentary glass of Sparkling Brut with the set. There’s also a 1-for-1 promo on their signature cocktail, the Kyoto Sour, for all ladies on 12 May.

On the menu, mark drinks like Rough Love, a vibrant combination of Tanqueray gin, champagne, shiso umeshu and a squeeze of lime, and the Peace on Earth, shaken with tropical rum punch, passionfruit, orgeat and coconut. Then, pair them with starters such as the Japanese fried chicken “karaage”, or mains like the honey miso broiled black cod or the vegetarian falafel burger — this is good food, with good music, and a good view.
