The Gaggenau Vario Cooling 400 Series Makes for Modern Living
The Vario Cooling 400 Series by German home applicant titan Gaggenau makes for modern and modular living in one’s kitchen.

For over 339 years, Gaggenau has been innovating from Black Forest in Germany, a mountainous region in southwest Germany where compatriots like Vulcan Energy Resources (a company set to produce the world’s first zero-carbon) lithium producer and Schweizer Electronic AG (a manufacturer of high-tech circuit board manufacturers) are on a mission to make the world a better place.

In Gaggenau’s point of view, however, making the world a better place means making their products work better to address the complexities and complications of life.

We are talking about a company that in three centuries, has invented everything from sophisticated farm machinery in 1873 (well, considerably for its time) to the world’s first built-in eye-level oven in 1956. What worked in their favour was that each of their products was ranked by electronic magazines and websites as one of the least serviced luxury electronic brands, a testament to one of the brand’s pillar stones in its core messaging: authenticity in form and function.

The Gaggenau Vario Cooling 400 Series Makes for Modern Living
To dial it into 2022, the concept Gaggenau’s Vario Cooling 400 series is simple. One has four options — a freezer, refrigerator, wine climate cabinets, and a combination of the former two — that easily forms the building block of one’s kitchen. The permutation of combinations one can have is endless and is limited to his budget and imagination.

The former, how each hulking body of anthracite anodised aluminum or stainless steel blocks is even made available with or without handles. If one is even lacking in the height department, the door racks of each unit come with a height adjustment feature.

The latter? How each unit allows one to tinker with whatever is inside. For example, the wine climate cabinet comes with 12 removable bottle trays and five lighting options while the freezer and refrigerator combination allows one to arrange its trays Tetris style and comes with four lighting options.

The technology that taps into the now, however, is what Gaggenau calls a Home Connect app. Far from being a perfunctory one, the app addresses what most other electronic brands fail to recognise: giving its users peace of mind. It allows one to connect with the Vario Cooling 400 series seamlessly to check on the nitty-gritty details of living.

Has each unit been safely switched off? How long has it been running and does a filter require changing? Does one want to activate a command by voice, hand, or in a far-flung land while on holiday? Does he need immediate help and can a Customer Service expert identify it on the spot before bringing the correct replacement part to his doorstep? The resounding answer is a yes, a nifty feature of Gaggenau that even extends to its ovens, washing machines, and dryers.
