The Franck Muller Long Island Evolution Redefines a Classic Watchmaking Icon.
Since its introduction in 2000, the Franck Muller Long Island has become one of the mainstays in Franck Muller’s offerings—one that fluently articulates its offbeat aesthetic and technical innovation. More than two decades later, the Art Deco-inspired horological creation shows no signs of stagnation and is instead given a new lease of life with the latest iterations.
A modern reinterpretation of the Novecento style, the latest creation is a breath of fresh air, which sees the avant-garde watchmaker redefining the ground rules of the Franck Muller Long Island while retaining the originality of its staple that built its international recognition. This trailblazing spirit is manifested through three brand new creations with openworked dials.
First up is the Franck Muller Long Island Evolution Master Jumper. The masterpiece is endowed with three numerical indications — an unprecedented feat that showcases Franck Muller’s formidable capabilities in turning ordinary creations into extraordinary gems and a testament to its inventive vision. Franck Muller’s brilliance is also cleverly displayed with an inner sapphire crystal, allowing the Swiss watchmaker to incorporate the apertures’ frames and text elements.
Equally head-turning is the Franck Muller Long Island Evolution Giga Tourbillon. A green anodised aluminium bezel stands out in sharp relief against the black PVD-treated titanium case, with the large Giga Tourbillon cage occupying over half of the entire movement. A three-pointed supporting bridge closely mirroring barrel bridges holds four mainsprings, furnishing the marvel with a generous four-day power reserve.
Completing the impressive offering is the Franck Muller Long Island Evolution 7 Days Power Reserve. Designed as an ode to classic pocket watch movements, the Franck Muller Long Island Evolution 7 Days Power Reserve is a coup powered by its hand-wound FM 1745 calibre, which offers it a compelling seven days power reserve with a precise oscillator running at a steady 18,000vph. Decorated with luminous Arabic hour numerals, the powerful looker boasts a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock.
