Fashion is in constant flux.. As cycles of trends continue to transpire across seasons, there has been a resurgence of all things nostalgic. It refers to everything that has been done is now retrofitted, repurposed and decontextualised as something new. In fashion speak, the same can be said about the Spring Summer 2022 collections and how it pulled “borrowed” ideas from archives and past cultures.
But one might argue that recycling of ideas is simply the way fashion has always thrived and met the demands of the market. Perhaps the most enduring element of creation lies in simple acts of randomness — where references are devoid of any direct intention or meaning, or when ideas are simply best thought as without any post-rationale dilution.
