Inaugurated in 2020, our first Grooming Awards had 33 categories with each addressing what a man truly needed: skincare that was direct, effective and easy to use. In 2022, the focus shifted to include more makeup categories for us to address a new wave of male beauty and an added focus on expanding categories like serums, moisturisers, and sunscreens which brought us to 66 categories.
For our 2023 edition spanning across 95 categories which now includes technology, our team — Managing Editor Asaph Low, Grooming Director Bryan Goh, and Associate Creative Director Izwan Abdullah — has enlisted seven of our friends, makeup artist Larry Yeo, Sha Shamsi , Eric Tan , Priscelia Wong , and Kenneth Chia alongside grooming enthusiasts Naz and to sift through some pretty damn good products.
The products submitted will be judged with these simple metrics:
1. Its efficacy — does it do what it claims to do on the bottle description? (5 points)
2. Its sensorial feel — does it feel, smell and apply good? (5 points)
3. Bonus — does the product look as good as it works and is it ergonomically or sustainable packaged? (5 points)
To nominate a product or products (Note, the launch date of product/products does not matter) , simply nominate it/them in the form below with the following formation under its respective category: Brand_ProductNameInFull.
The final deadline for nominations is 31 January 2023 and the shortlisted products will be announced on 2 February 2023. Only shortlisted nominations will be contacted.
Please note that to qualify, each nominated product must be available in a quantity of two and be sent to our office from 3 February 2023 to 16 February 2023. Please also note that if the judges are unable to receive full-sized fragrances, tester vials can be sent.
The winner of each category will be contacted by 21 March 2023 and announced in our June/July 2023 print issue. Products which have not won will still be featured digitally in a series of web and social posts starting from June 2023.
Winning brands will be given an option to purchase a 360 sales package that encompasses digital coverage with a customised gif alongside the print coverage.
