How do we even begin to describe Thai superstar Matoom? The first Thai person to perform at the Gangnam K-festival 2023? The tallest actor in the Thai entertainment industry who stands at a whopping 1.93m? Or the kind and compassionate judge on the Vietnamese TV show “The New Mentor”?
Besides also being the HOFS Singapore Awards 2023’s recipient of the Outstanding Entertainer Hall Of Fame Award, we’d also like to call Matoom the man who serves great face—firm, poreless, and always glowing like a bounce card is reflecting off him.
Here, Matoom takes us through his secrets, from the skincare stuff of Thai legend to the two procedures he does every six months.
Hello Matoom, how are you? What’s the most exciting thing that happened to you this year?
I’ve had quite an eventful year with several exciting occurrences, including walking the runway at fashion shows in Vietnam and South Korea. I also had the honour of receiving The Best Outstanding Entertainer award in Singapore, which was a significant milestone in my career and showcased my abilities in the Thai entertainment industry.
This achievement is something that both my family and I take great pride in, as it demonstrates that a Thai entertainer can make a mark on the international stage.

What’s your travel skincare routine like and what are the products? Do you find yourself using a product no matter where you go?
Whether I’m at home or travelling, I prioritise my skincare routine, focusing on products with high-quality ingredients that suit my skin.
My daily routine includes using a gentle makeup remover, a facial cleansing gel suitable for dry skin, and moisturising products with natural ingredients to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.
What’s a Thai grooming secret that you stand by? Is there a Thai-made product too that is your holy grail?
One of my Thai grooming secrets is to incorporate natural ingredients like the tamarind in the Kuu Spa Tamarind Salt Scrub Bath for weekly exfoliation, and I also swear by a Thai-made shampoo by Dok Bua Ku that’s infused with kaffir lime which helps alleviate scalp itching and effectively addresses various hair issues.
These natural Thai products are the best, as they harness the power of natural ingredients to provide effective solutions.
What could Singaporean men learn from Thai people in terms of grooming themselves?
Both countries face similar challenges regarding air pollution, dietary choices, and environmental factors. Thais have a long tradition of using natural remedies and incorporating natural and gentle products into grooming routines can elevate self-care practices.
For example, when the problem of itchy scalp occurs, I choose to use products that contain natural ingredients to specifically address the problem, such as products containing kaffir lime, etc. Or if I have a sore throat but I still need to work, I will choose ingredients like green chiretta or Indian gooseberry to help relieve it.

Is there a makeup trick you use on stage that always ensures you look flawless? Who taught it to you?
When it comes to stage makeup, I always strive for a look that appears natural yet radiates good health. Over the years, I’ve experimented with various products and techniques to achieve this look. My skincare routine starts at night. I use moisturisers to add moisture, which affects my makeup during the day. Since I have dry skin, moisturising from the start at night will make the makeup last longer and not flaky.
As for choosing ingredients, I use skin care products like moisturising sprays before applying makeup and after finishing my day, I choose to clean my face deeply so that there is no dirt left on the face to prevent clogged pores.
Do you believe in cosmetic surgeries? If so, is there a quick and painless one you enjoy doing? And why?
I believe that cosmetic procedures can enhance one’s appearance and boost confidence. Personally, I prefer quick and painless procedures like Botox injections to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and Pico laser treatments to brighten the skin.
I consult with a doctor every six months for these treatments.

What would you tell your younger self in terms of how he’ll look in the future?
If I could speak to my younger self, I would convey the message that being extremely thin doesn’t last forever. In the future, I would become healthier, no longer look as thin, and exude a healthier, radiant appearance.
I would reassure my younger self that I have the potential to become a well-known Thai celebrity.
What’s next for you in 2024?
In 2024, I plan to continue my journey in the entertainment industry. I aim to explore various opportunities, including acting, hosting, and modelling, to serve as an inspiration to the younger generation.
I want to demonstrate that achieving success at the international level is possible with dedication and a genuine commitment to the work, regardless of the outcomes.
