Frankly, it’s incredibly difficult to measure Virgil Abloh’s influence on the industry despite him doing some of the best collections we’ve seen in years. For the industry goers, he has inspired us to think differently about how culture and fashion can coincide: seamlessly and with references to the street. For people who are into the arts, he has changed how visual presentations should be done: mini cinematic worlds that challenge while making you think. For anybody else, what you are currently wearing might be no thanks to him: something western, something an athlete would wear off the courts or really, just something rooted in the arts.
