#MFMF82: Fashion Stylist & Writer Manfred Lu "TikTok Music Part Two" Playlist
Never would I thought I’d be here making a “TikTok Music Part Two” playlist. Last year during the Circuit Breaker, I took the liberty of compiling four songs that were stuck in my head from my (then) nine p.m. to three a.m. routine of just scrolling down my fyp page on TikTok. For a moment after I abstained from the app, convincing myself that had I been on it any longer I would’ve started my own Obsessed Challenge videos where it’s just me trying out different ways to cry to the song.

Just recently, I’ve downloaded the app again. It wasn’t until now when I realised how much I missed, and how fast trends on TikTok goes. So here we are a year later, with yet another playlist of arguably the best TikTok-famous songs trending right now.

Doja Cat — Streets

Either it’s sinister to add this in because of all the “thirsty” videos it has produced, or that it’s a song that no one should listen to while sober, Doja Cat’s “Streets” is indeed one of her best songs.

Charli XCX — Unlock It (Ft. Kim Petras & Jay Park)

As Twitter pointed out, this Charli XCX track from her 2018 “mixtape” album never got a place in the charts despite its cult following. Fast forward three years later and the song just won’t stop appearing everywhere on TikTok. Good on you Charli.

Le Tigre — Deception

Who would’ve thought a Le Tigre goth-rock cult classic would find its way on the most popular TikTok pages? But if there’s anything to learn about the app, it’s that its users would make anything from any decade popular again. Let’s just hope they stop at Enya.

SALES — Renee

This mellow number from the indie group SALES was an unexpected standout as well, but what’s TikTok without its chaotic spin of emotions.
